JamFest Info!!

Hello Cheer families!

A TENTATIVE performance schedule has been published on Saturday, 11/25. On Saturday, 12/2 we are currently scheduled to perform at 11:45 am; on Sunday, 12/3 we are currently scheduled to perform at @12:15 pm. Keep in mind the schedule is subject to change and we typically see some flunctuations in our performance order in the week leading up to the competition. There is a total of 5 teams currently registered to compete in our division so it will be a very exciting time!

I will distribute an itinerary at Wednesday's practice for the weekend's activities based on these performance times.

Don't forget we have practice Tuesday and Wednesday this week from 6:30-8:30 at Wildcard with all payments due to Wildcard by Tuesday.

Hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving! - Yvette.

COMMENTS FROM VANDY'S HEAD COACH-

Hello Cheer Parents -

The following is information received today in an email from Pam Pearson, Vanderbilt's Head Cheer Coach:

We are looking forward to a great Spirit Day here at Vandy this Saturday and a great football game against Florida! What an exciting game this will be for your team, family, and friends. We are very excited that you have planned to attend spirit day! I wanted to cover a few things
before you arrive Saturday morning.

** Please make sure that your team knows the routine and can perform it! We will rehearse the routine a couple times that morning but they must know the routine when they arrive. Unfortunately we will not have time to teach the routine that morning. If your team does not know the routine, they may be asked not to enter the field for half-time.*****
Please be registered and on the field by 7:30. Practice will start
promptly at 7:30.

Please wear black shorts. We understand that it might be cold that morning so wearing a warm-up over your shorts for practice will not be a problem at all and is recommended. You will receive your T-shirts at registration along with your lunch coupon. This is going to be a great experience for you and your team and we are very excited to have you on our campus.

Pam Pearson
NCA State Director
Vanderbilt Head Cheer Coach

We want EVERYONE to have a great time but it also means we MUST be on time to meet no later than 6:15 and register at 6:30 AND our team has to know the routine in advance. Use some available time between now and Saturday morning to practice, practice, practice! Michele stated a couple of weeks ago to call her on her cell phone if the girls needed assistance with portions of the routine. If you have any questions, please call me at home or on my cell phone.
I will be traveling Saturday morning to Vandy and will be available by cell phone. Thanks - Yvette.

Vandy info - Saturday 11/04/06

Vanderbilt Exhibition, 11/04/2006

Vanderbilt Athletics
2601 Jess Neely Drive
Nashville, TN 37212

Directions to Vanderbilt from Louisville:

Take I-65 South to Exit 209B, the Broadway/West End exit. (Exit is after the I-65 South/I-40W merger).
Turn Left onto Broadway.
When the road splits at 4 blocks, stay to the Right to enter West End Avenue.
Take West End past the main University entrance and turn Left onto 25th Avenue.
Turn Right at the 2nd stop sign onto Jess Neely Drive.

Weather:
The weather forecast for Saturday is partly cloudy with a high around 58 degrees. This is an outdoor stadium so dress accordingly!

Check-in – Uniforms – Seating Information
We must check-in at Vanderbilt by 6:30 CT (or 7:30 ET - our time) so that means everyone needs to be there no later than 6:15 and should meet at Gate 3. Our first practice is at 7:30 CT. Game time is 11:30 CT and will be a televised game. We are performing at half-time. I would anticipate that half-time will be sometime around 1:00 - 1:30. It is up to each family if you wish to remain for the entire game.

For the halftime exhibition, the girls will wear black Soffe shorts, t-shirts (to be distributed at check-in Saturday morning), cheerleading socks and their shoes. There is no need for makeup or hairpieces for this exhibition. Hair should be in a ponytail to keep it out of their face during practice and the performance.

Our seats are in Section Q, which is on the East side of the stadium. Gate 3 is the closest entrance to our section. I have distributed tickets based on the number of tickets you purchased, and have not attempted to keep each family in any particular seat order.

Stadium Rules:
The stadium has several policies that all fans must follow. Fans are not allowed to bring in backpacks or other large bags, video recorders, food or beverages, and noise makers such as air horns, whistles, etc.

For a complete list of other policies or other miscellaneous information about the stadium, please visit the following link: http://vucommodores.cstv.com/facilities/vand-stadium-policies.html

I also need 21 ticket stubs from the Vandy game for a special project so please save your ticket stubs and give to me before you leave the game.

I can be reached on my cell phone at 533-3389; Michele cell number is 643-7476.
