FUNDRAISING UPDATES AS OF 9/17/06

Thanks to everyone who endured Saturday to bake or work at ValuMarket and Walgreens. We raised $353.48 between the two locations.

Time is growing short for us on fundraising for this season. We are scheduled at ValuMarket on Saturday, 09/30 from 10a-4pm. We need your help to make this a huge success! We are also participating in the Community Festival at ValuMarket on Saturday, 10/14. This is an all day (from noon to 9 pm) so we need lots of people to help all day long. Unless anyone has other ideas, we are planning a duck pond, a putting green, and possibly a cornhole toss game. We are also gathering items for a raffle. If you have any items you can donate toward the raffle, or know someone (such as a business, etc) that can donate items, we would love to have them. We need to finalize items for the raffle by Tuesday, 9/26. That gives me time to create fliers and tickets to begin preselling to our family, friends, neighbors, and anyone else you don't know. The drawings will be held at the end of the evening at the Community Festival.

We are also planning another Texas Hold Em tournament. I will have more information by the end of the week on the exact date, time and location.

These are the final attempts at fundraising for this season. If you have not had the opportunity to work at ANY other fundraiser, then please make time on your schedule to contribute. I have seen a lot of the same faces at previous events and it is time for everyone to pitch in to help out. All it takes it a few hours of your time; please mark a time block on your calendars NOW in preparation for the upcoming fundraising events.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks - Yvette.

Updates as of 9/14/06

Hello Cheer Parents:

Hotel Information:
I will have hotel information for our 2 out of town competitions to distribute on Friday, 9/15 at Wildcard. I will also post on the blog in a separate message.

Account Balances:
I should also have updated account balances for everyone on Friday, 9/15. The deadline for payment for the Cheer Power competition 10/27/06 in Columbus is also near so I will include the $35 fee to your balances.

Payments due to Wildcard:
It is also time for everyone to pay the next installment of $30 for our Friday night gym rental. Also, if you owe any past balances to Wildcard, please talk with Tom ASAP to make payment arrangements. Wildcard has been very generous to our team members and very fair with our gym rental costs and I don't want anyone's participation jeopardized because of a failure to communicate available options with Tom.

Fundraising:
Thanks to everyone for their participation in last and this week's fundraising events. We raised $213.05 on Saturday, 9/09. We have another bake sale planned for this upcoming Saturday, 9/16. If you signed up to bake or work, please follow through on your commitment. If you are unable to participate in this event or any other due to last minute conflicts, then please call me so we can fill in your spot to make sure we have enough coverage. I know that everyone has good intentions but things do come up that can prevent you from attending, but I would expect a phone call to let me know of the changes.

We also have bagging groceries at ValuMarket scheduled for 09/30, 10a-4pm. Please let me know if you can participate.

Don't forget about the upcoming Community Festival at ValuMarket scheduled for Saturday October 14, noon to 9pm. We will have more discussions about what we would like to do as fundraisers at that event.

Look for more info soon on another Texas Hold Em Tournament.

Important Dates:
October 7 is our Homecoming date so mark your calendars for this special event!
October 14 is Picture Day. James will do our individual and team photos again, offering reasonable package prices.
November 18 is our banquet. Another great celebration is being planned with good food, entertainment, and lots of fun!

Let me know if you have any questions - thanks. Yvette!

Updates week of 9/05/06

Good evening Cheer Parents!

Polo and T-shirts orders:
I am finalizing the orders with our supplier/embroider by Friday, 09/08. Let me know if you want to order a t-shirt or polo shirt.

Fundraising:
We have several fundraisers over the next few weeks to give everyone an opportunity to contribute toward the banquet costs. Fundraising benefits you and your cheerleaders so everyone can enjoy a celebration of the season and receive recognition for their hard work and dedication. If we are unable to raise enough money to cover the costs of the banquet, then we must look to cover the costs by passing it along - I would much rather have a few hours of your time and donated goods to make our fundraisers a success for everyone!

Candle orders:
Turn your orders and payments to Yvette by Thursday, 9/07 at Wildcard so the orders can be placed with the Home Interiors rep.

Saturday, 09/09
10 am-2 pm Bake Sale at Walgreens - we need people to work and/or donate delicious goodies
9am - 2 pm Car Wash at Arby's - we need your time and your strong arm to help wash cars

Saturday, 09/16

Saturday, 9/30
10a - 4 pm Bagging groceries at Valumarket - This is a great way for us to make money! All we have to provide is parents, friends, family members and cheerleaders who are willing to work for a couple of hours bagging groceries!

Saturday, 10/14
We also have an opportunity to participate in the Highview Community Festival at ValuMarket. We have been invited to participate in a parade where the cheerleaders can receive additional recognition for their involvement in Fern Creek Sports - it will be a great time! We also have the opportunity to staff a booth and generate more toward our fundraising goals!

Please consider any or all of the dates and how you and your cheerleader can assist with fundraising. Fundraising is a great way to promote awareness of our involvement in Fern Creek Cheerleading! Leigh Sweeney is helping me with scheduling volunteers at each event and she will contact you. You can also call me, email, or post a comment to this board if you are able to participate.

Thanks for your commitment and time to making this cheerleading program a success and an enjoyment for your cheerleaders! - Yvette.
